Buy It, Build It, or Have It Built
Decide which automations to set up yourself, which off-the-shelf tools to buy, and which are worth handing to a builder.
Not every automation belongs in your own hands. Some are a 10-minute setup in a tool you already have. Some need a paid tool you plug in and configure. And some — the ones that touch multiple systems, need custom logic, or would take you a full weekend to figure out — are genuinely worth having someone build for you.
There's no shame in that last option. You wouldn't rewire your own shop's electrical panel to save a callout fee; the same logic applies to automations that are more complex than a weekend project.
Simple, single-tool automations get done today; multi-system or high-stakes ones get a proper build.
The rest is free too — it just needs a seat.
